We, I'm pretty sure, decided that the Utah Road Trip 2009 was a huge success. I had to upload over 300 pictures (between my two cameras), and if that doesn't define success, I don't know what does.
So, Tuesday we left early. Supposedly we were wanting to leave Kyle's by 4:30 (am), but then we didn't leave until closer to 6:00. I was OK with this. Mostly. It meant I got to sleep a little longer and we got to tease Felix for not knowing the difference between right and left. (It's OK, Felix. These things happen.)
It was early afternoon when we finally pulled into Santa Horhe. I was expecting it to be deathly hot (Hello, June), but it was only 80s and 90s the whole time we were down there. After stopping at my house and getting some lunch, we drove out to Tuachan.
The amphitheater is in the background. Kind of hard to see, but you get the drift that it is set amidst a lot of red rocks.
We also went to Brigham Young's winter home. Here is the famous tree that got struck by lightning (anyone else suddenly realize that Brigham Young and Lightning seem to go together fairly well?). The cement that holds the bar that holds the tree together says something about tree surgery. Cool.
Kyle showing his fear of being accosted by Mormons.
And me pointing to the house or something in the vicinity.
We also walked up Main Street and took Jumping Shots at the little water fountain park, but Felix has those pictures. Maybe later I will make a post called "Pictures from Felix."
