It is hard to believe that it has already been a week since I left my little ol' hometown for the great big cities on the tiny green island of Taiwan. Of course, I missed a day somewhere in there, but still. Hard to believe.
My nails are growing like weeds here. I have always had a hard time getting my nails to grow long without breaking, but it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore! I clipped them just a few days before I left home, and now look at them. It's getting to be a little bit of a challenge to type, so I'll probably be trimming them again soon.
I was finally able to get a good night's rest last night, thanks to a little invention called "modern medicine" and "Ambien." I still woke up at 5 am, but this time I was able to go back to sleep for another two hours. I may have to invest in an alarm clock soon, though, because I have a feeling that my body is going to get used to this new light pattern and I'll start sleeping through the sunrise. One of these days I'd like to be able to go up to the roof and maybe watch the sun come up!
Any minute now we'll be headed downstairs for some more training. I guess I'd better start gathering things up so that I'm ready when Gerald gets here!
I hope you are all having a nice 4th of July weekend there in the States. Please let me know how you are doing!
