Last night a few of us decided to ride our bikes to the Zen Park (the one with the maze that we went to our first day here; did I post about that?) because there is a path you can walk on that supposedly massages your feet or something? I don't know. I hear it hurts to walk on, though, and I wasn't too keen on taking my shoes off outside and walking around, especially not in Taiwan. Unfortunately, it was getting pretty dark, so the few pictures I took are not very good, but I figured I would share them, anyway!
First, the giant beetle I found. I had Christina point to it so you could see just how big it was.
Kendra, Heather, and Jessica attempting to walk on the path. Kendra was the only one that made it all the way to the end.
The statue in the center of the park is well-lit at night.
There were tons of guys playing basketball. I don't know how well you can see them through the trees. Maybe I will go back some day and take a better picture of all the basketball players! There were also about 5 ladies in uniforms doing a dance to some traditional sounding music. I am not sure what that was all about, but it looked fun!
And then Christina saw this humongous snail as we were walking back to where our bikes were parked. I threw my keys in for perspective.
But then we decided we needed to move the snail to better light. Except then it got scared and went into its shell (as best it could; it was too big to fit all the way), so I convinced Christina to jump in there to add more interest to the photo.
Coming out of its shell
I promise there are photos of me around here, just not any on my camera. Maybe I can convince someone to do a photo exchange (*cough* Christina? *cough*)...
