Christening the Kitchenaid

I have yet to name this appliance. I don't know if it will ever actually get a name as, so far, my oven is the only appliance in my house to have one ("Cookie," if you're wondering).

But.

I don't know how else to dub this, other than as a Christening. "Breaking in" sounds so... horrid and violent, you know?

Moral of the story, I need to use my Brand New Beautiful Blue Kitchenaid for the first time yet. So I'm trying to decide what to make. This is where you may (potentially) come in. Also, I will share the end product of whatever I make to whomever wants some, assuming they are A. not a stranger; and B. in the area. (If you do not meet those qualifications, I am sorry. I'll try to post a picture for you or something.)

Here are the options I am thinking of.

Cinnamon Rolls. Nothing super fancy, but still deliciously divine.
Chocolate Chip Cookies (the top secret recipe)
Cake/Cupcakes (of whatever variety I have in my cupboard)

OR:

Fudge Chocolate Chip Cookies (I have never made this before, but tell me they don't look exquisite and I will call you a liar!)

Cast your votes! I'm leaving town on Wednesday, so it's either gotta happen this weekend or after I get back from my mini-adventure.

And, if no one chooses to care, well. Fine. More for me, and I'll make whatever sounds good in the moment.

So, school's out for the summer. This is sad, because I loved those children, and working at the school felt more like playtime than worktime. Is this a sign that I should be a real-life teacher when I grow up? I don't know (judging by my spelling lately, the answer is "no"). Anyway, for a variety of fun reasons, I'll not be returning to that elementary school next year, but I am hoping to get in at a different one significantly closer to my house. This means I am only working one job right now (which I'd be doing even if I was staying at the same school for next year), so suddenly there are Days Off of Work (tomorrow is my first!) and chances to Sleep In! AWESOME! The precious part of my life was when the Students gave me a good-bye book, though, and I'm sure to cherish it for always. It's pretty obvious that they mostly only have seen me with my hair in a ponytail, though, judging by the pictures of me that they drew.

What else? Well, I recently turned another year older (and supposedly wiser), and with this new tick in the age-clock I got a beautiful, blue Kitchenaid! Seriously, you have never seen anything quite so beautiful as this Kitchenaid. Diamonds do not compare. To make my birthday even more awesome, the bank I used in Taiwan even sent me a birthday card, never mind that I closed my account 5 months ago. I love them, never mind that I can't read the majority of the card.
Adorbs, right?

Also, did you see the eclipse on Sunday? SO COOL! Mom purchased two pair of solar glasses, so we were able to stare directly at the sun without doing any damage to the old eyes. And I got my dad to willingly wear pink, which made it THAT much better. There are, of course, pictures. We'll see about posting them at some point, but I still want to live, so I don't know how that's going to turn out.

Meanwhile, I'm having just started (yesterday) a Chinese class. It is 10 weeks long, once a week. Yesterday was a little easy as we only went over tones and sounds. The teacher told me, "You very good, but you sound Taiwanese." I consider this a compliment, of course.

And, because this post is going everywhere else... I'm going to Disneyland! Again! That's happening next week, and I tell you what. The thought of a trip to Cali may have been the only thing to get me through Mothers' Day week at the flower shop.

Finally, I am greatly looking forward to my fellow Berhanians coming home this summer, especially since Heather will be bringing me this:
HEATHER I LOVE YOUR FACE!

And that's the world today.

Why, yes! I am still alive! Next week at this time maybe is going to be a different story (woo! Mothers' Day fun at the flower shop!). Actually, my life is pretty adventure-less these days, but Dad and I did manage to make it down to the temple last night for a photo-shoot. Since I have nothing else going on, I thought I'd share some of my pictures on this here bloggy.
