Love is like
A pearl
It festers.
Probably burns,
Leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
You are the clam:
The grain of sand
That slips inside the shell
Unnoticed, at first, but then
Unable to reject it,
To spit it out,
To rid itself of what seems to be a minor nuisance
Yet proves to be a major pain!
What do you do with all this pain,
A pain you cannot be rid of?
Be the clam.
Embrace it
Coat it in tenderness and beauty
Making it smooth
And creating, at last,
The perfect pearl.
