I don't know that "folly" is the right word there, but I liked the alliteration.
So I'm home for the weekend, right? Right. And it's lovely and hot and, well, hot. So basically I've been inside all day because it is way too hot to go outside.
Drawly has this thing with shoes. I think he's had it always, because I've noticed him always playing with unworn shoes if they are around. Well, he's learned this new game where the human puts a toy mouse in the shoe and then he has to try to get it out. So Dad had his shoes off after we got home from the airport, right? So I dropped a mouse into each shoe. He coudn't decide which one to go for, I guess, because he stuck one of his front paws in each shoe and looked like he was trying to wear them. It was really cute.
More recently today, Drawly had some trauma. Sister has these things called "Soft Claws" for Buddy. They're rubber tips that you glue onto the cat's claws and then the cat sheds them after a few weeks or something (think acrylic nails- you know, fake ones). Drawly, I guess, is old enough to wear them, too, now, so she put some of those on him. Well, he's playing wiht one of his toys, and it's all carpeted and stuff. A lot of cat toys are. Then he decides he wants to go play with a different toy, only he couldn't get away from the first one becuase his soft claw was snagged in the carpet! It was so sad, becuase when I went to help him get free, he started crying as his claw got twisted, and then Sister came to try to help and she was like ripping the soft claw
off his real claw (only not on purpose) and he started crying much more vocally, so finally Dad went and found his x-acto knife and cut the carpet. He's fine now, but was rather docile for a while... Like 30 seconds.
Cutest kitten ever.
And if you're interested in his brother (also a very, very cute kitten), Sir Guy and Sonja are also up for adoption. Comment for details (or email me).
