4 Days and Counting

I realized today that I've hardly blogged in the past two weeks or so. My excuse is that I've been pretty busy. I mean, hello. Moving 10,000 miles here, thank you.

This past weekend, the defecta came out to visit me, and it was a Trifecta reunion! Sometimes it was hard thinking of new things to do in the STG, but my hair dresser suggested Red Cliffs (which has natural water slides and pools to swim in), and I like to think that this was a win idea! Less winning was when I thought one member of the Trifecta was about to drown and die (I won't mention any names here so as not to cause embarrassment to the guilty party). Also less winning was the sunburn I got (major fry on my shoulders; I don't even remember the last time I burned (I used to never burn! Ever!), so sunscreen wasn't something I even thought of until it was way too late), but that has gone away for the most part by now. Just in time for me to go again this Saturday (and hopefully not fry; I will wear the sunscreen this time)!

What else has been going on... Well, a lot of freaking out has been happening, but that's to be expected, I think. Dad also recently got an iPad, so we've been playing with the Photobooth app that is on there. And, because I love you all and think you deserve a good laugh (also because I am pretty confident and don't mind people laughing at me), I give you the following. If you don't laugh, then chances are you'll either have nightmares or you have no soul. (There are much funnier pictures, but I am not quite that confident in myself that I am going to post them for the whole world to see!)

Sometime very soon I need to actually pack my bags, but I'm waiting to do that until after I go to Costco tomorrow (everyone loves Costco, right? I mean, granted, it's my first time actually shopping there, and only my 4th time going in a Costco, but, it'll be fine, right?).

Anyway. I'm still alive! Chances are good there won't be much of any real updates again until after I get to Taiwan, so hopefully this can tide you over.

Also, hey, Skype me if you're not a stranger and we think of each other as friends. That would be good.

Today is My Felix's birthday. And so, a post dedicated to him for being one of  the best friends a gal could have ever asked for.

I was also going to include a video here, but YouTube is being DUMB and won't upload it. May try again later.

Tomorrow, my Two Favorite People are driving to Santa Horhe, just to see me.

This means, despite the crap-shoot day I had today, my week is going to qualify as AWESOME.

Hey, Kaiyo. You should call out on Tuesday. Just sayin'.

Short Meme

I hope your heart wasn't too terribly broken when I didn't blog on Wednesday (we all knew that would happen, didn't we? I did, anyway). My non blogging was due to the fact that I was either a) slaving away at work all night BY MYSELF and counting loads of boxes that I didn't actually need to count OR b) stuffing my face with ice cream cake. I will let you take your pick (but I'll give you a clue, it wasn't the one that sounds the most enjoyable).

Anyway, since last time I blogged, I am now officially a year older (and some might say "wiser," but I say "Only if you like comments from the Peanut Gallery (as my bishop so accuses me)"). I have had the snarks really bad this week, and I'm afraid some of it might have come out when I was talking to a customer last night (OK. Seriously. You don't come up to me and ask "Which fabric in the women's is like the men's cotton?" and expect me to answer in a way that doesn't make you look stupid.) I have also discovered that exercise can be fun, but only if done while playing Wii Fit (plus! Drawly even gets to "play!"). And I have planned a brief road trip with the Mom, in which we will drive to California, spend approximately 2 days there, and drive back in time for me to be at work on Tuesday. Guys, I am so excited. There will be Traditional Trifecta Fun Times, and Disneyland, and and and Not Being in Utah (not that I have anything against Utah, I just need to get OUT a lot). This plan goes into action tomorrow morning, so that we may make it to Anaheim in time for me to go to church at my old Branch, which I love and miss dearly. (I hope linger longer is especially delicious, because I am seriously looking forward to that, too.)

And now, because I feel like there isn't much blogging going on on my part, I leave you with a short meme that I picked up somewhere.

1.  Where were you five years ago?

Five years ago I was... Oh. At home, still recovering from having my wisdom teethies removed (which removal actually took place on the 5th of May, but I basically couldn't open my mouth for like 3 weeks). That was not the most fun experience of my life, and I'm glad that I will never again have to repeat it.

2.  On my to-do list today?

Basically as follows:
Finish getting dressed
Make my bed
Eat some Foods
Clean the House (if I get the energy To Do. Won't be here on my typically cleaning day next week, but I may put it off until Wednesday after work. This seems more likely)
Probably do something about my hair, preferably more than just sticking it in a pony tail, but, again. Time? Energy? Desire to actually look like I put effort into myself today (there is not a whole lot of that going on right now)?
Scripture Study (Ammon just chopped off a bunch of arms yesterday. Still awesome. Meanwhile, right now the king is zonked out as if to be dead, but he's NOT! Yes, I can make the Book of Mormon sound extra exciting. Because it IS.)
Pack for my Road Trip
And, oh yeah, go to work

3.  What are your five favorite snacks?
Favorite snacks. Hm. Caramel Tim Tams are right at the top of the list right now, but also Grasshopper cookies, and strawberry Mentos, and Konpeito, and twizzlers... OK, basically I just like Sugar and Chocolate. An occasional cheeto is OK, too.

4.  If you were a billionaire you would...
Travel the world and finish my education. Maybe in reverse order, maybe not. Also, I would live in California.

From "Sunny" California

You're welcome, Kaiyo. But don't be too surprised if, just randomly, my soundtrack appears again one day. (I hope it catches you when you're in class and that you have your volume up to maximum. THAT would be awesome.)

Also, my parents and I were walking around the park this morning (thanks, FeFe), and it was kind of misting. And then it started raining and there were puddles on the ground and I went "Oh. Hello, water. nice of you to be in my shoe, soaking my socks because I have a hole in my soul. I mean sole." Both shoes, btw. So I am now the proud owner of two new pairs of shoes, both of which are very dry. Also, I was smart enough to bring extra pairs of socks, even though I wasn't smart enough to bring different shoes.

And can I just tell you that Anaheim still feels like home to me? A very expensive home, but I could still live here again. Someday. When I, you know, have money.

Anyway, headed back to the park in just a bit, where I will be meeting the Trifecta. FeFe gets to face one of his greatest fears, because we are going on Pinocchio, and there will be a whale jumping out at him, and it will be awesome. I still need to go on Small World, too, and a few other rides. Not like I won't be back again, though. We all know I have Disney in my bones (even if I do never want to work for Disney again).

Trifecta and the Snow

In about 2 weeks I am going to CA. My boss doesn't know this yet, but I'm going (don't worry, I'm talking to him tomorrow). So, in honor of the occasion (and because it was Kaiyo's birthday on the 5th), I give you pictures of the last Trifecta reunion. Because these ones made me laugh.

FeFe's First Snow and Snowball Fight

Which results in being pegged in the Behind.

And then we realize how Cold snow is!

Enjoying the view at Ceder Breaks

Kaiyo being Very Concerned because FeFe and I have crossed the guard rails. And we're doing Jumping Shots (as was previously seen). And by "we" I mean FeFe because I was wearing a skirt.

Air guitar. But, get this, in the air! Kaiyo is OK doing jumping shots now, because there is a real rail to keep him from falling off the cliff into the Vast Beyond.

Ready... Set...

Victory!

The Big Plunge

There's this experience:

And then there's my experience. Happily, I did not lose my teeth. But I did go skydiving! Yesterday at 8 am my Felix came and picked me up for our next Big Adventure. We then proceeded to drive to my Kyle's house to pick him up. The Trifecta jumped out of a perfectly good airplane at about 10 am yesterday morning. Best. Thing. Ever. Kind of I was worried about losing my shoes (when you're falling at 120mph and your shoes aren't tied on, it's a valid fear) but they stayed on the whole way down, landing and everything.

The view, while being very... brown, was still incredible. I have never seen that much sky/ground so uninterrupted. You could see for miles! We jumped from 12,500 feet, so it only makes sense. My Tandem person pointed out LA, Anaheim, San Diego, and a bunch of other directions to me. It was kind of overwhelming, really, but so worth it.

I'll post pictures as soon as I get them from my Felix.

I can now cross two items off my list of Things I Want to Do Before I Die:
Work for Disney.
Go Skydiving.

Who knows what I'll cross off next?

Utah Road Trip: More Fun!

Tuesday June 2:

First Utah Temple to be visited: St. George. 2 more to go!

I am not good at these jumping shot games. But, to appease Felix, I post this picture, anyway.

On Tuesday, I was still trying to get the hang of taking these jumping shots. This was the first attempt. And I love the expressions on Kyle's and Felix's faces!

Sitting outside the Brigham Young winter home.

This is before we had even gotten to Utah. We stopped in Baker for some breakfast, because we were all hungry. Here Kyle is showing us a beautiful brochure featuring Sky Diving in Vegas. He tried to convince us to go on Saturday on our way home, but it didn't happen (however, we are going to be jumping out of perfectly good airplane in 5 days and counting).

Bob's Big Boy!

Everyone needs a picture with Bob's Big Boy.

Even me. As I'm talking on the phone.

Wednesday, June 3:

Me being totally clueless. I really had no idea until, oh, last week when Felix gave me his pictures from his camera.

Scenic Point on the way to the Grand Canyon

Kyle and Felix admiring the canyon.

Felix faced one of the most dangerous creatures on the planet and lived to tell the tale: Donkeys.

The DMV is in Hurricane, which is on the way to the Grand Canyon. We stopped, briefly, in their parking lot.

And, oh. The Utah Tax Commissioner's office is right next door.

Thursday, June 4:

Chilly and I sort of fail at Model Poses.

Here's your sign.

Friday, June 5:

These just needed to be seen.
