I saw:
A truck load of very much alive, very large, pigs. But I don't think they were alive for much longer. I'm pretty sure they were off to meat their maker. I mean meet their maker.
A hummingbird's nest with a momma and baby hummingbird in it (pictures were taken, cord is not here).
Mark Eubank. The weather guy from KSL that retired.
Some people are
so hard to please.
Anyway, this is probably going to end up being a really distorted picture because it will be blown way out of proportion, but it needs to be done. If ever I am chatting at you and send a ":d" your way, yes. It is in on purpose. Please force yourself to see the following picture in your mind's eye.
Or... blogger will cooperate and leave it in it's actual size. That works, too. (no, you're not looking for a photo. If you see a little blue guy with his tongue sticking up, that's all you're looking for. This is after much mis communicating with One Foreman that I add this edit.)

1
How long wilt thou
aforget me, O
Lord? for ever?
how long wilt thou
bhide thy face from me?
2
How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
having asorrow in my heart daily?
how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider
and ahear me, O
Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the
sleep of death; (Psalms 13)
1
O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 Have mercy upon me, O
Lord; for I
am aweak: O
Lord,
bheal me; for my bones are vexed.
3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long?
4 Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.
5 For in death
there is no remembrance of thee: in the
agrave who shall give thee thanks?
6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my
atears. (Psalms 6)
17 Lord,
how along wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my
bdarling from the lions.
18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.
22
This thou hast seen, O
Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness
and of thy praise all the day
long. (Psalms 35)
5
How long,
Lord? wilt thou be
aangry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
8 O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily
aprevent us: for we are brought very low.
9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.
13 So we thy
apeople and
bsheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.
23 Stir up thyself, and
aawake to my judgment,
even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. (Psalms 79)
1
Give ear, O
aShepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest
between the
bcherubims, shine forth.
2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.
3
aTurn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
4 O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure. (Psalms 80)
46
How long,
Lord? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
49 Lord, where
are thy former lovingkindnesses,
which thou swarest unto David in thy truth? (Psalms 89)
2 O
Lord,
ahow long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear!
even cry out unto thee
of bviolence, and thou wilt not save! (Habakkuk 1)
52 Blessed
be the
Lord for evermore. Amen, and Amen. (Psalms 89)
Not meant to exactly be a rip-off from
Chilly's, but it sort of turned out that way. Sorry, dood. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

Dear people upstairs who think it is great fun to pound things,
Please stop. It's really rather annoying. Especially considering the fact that I'm tired and want to sleep.

I keep wearing clothes that match my bruise. Awesome.

There is air and there is conditioning!!!! God bless those nice young men who have made it so I no more have to sleep in 80+ degree temperatures. Even if they did come like... a day after I reported it. Twice.
Picture doesn't very well do it justice, as far as color goes. Which is a real pity, because, honestly, this is the most wicked sweetest bruise I have ever had in my life. Really deep blue today. Matched Dad's shirt. Awesome. However, considering the angle and the fact that I had to take the picture in the mirror... well, just let your imagination compensate for what's missing. And if that doesn't do it for you, maybe find me in the very near future and I'll show you in person. Only, we don't know how long it will stay dark. I expect soon it will turn that nasty yellow-green color.

We're going for our favorite leisure activity for today's topic, I guess. My favorite... well, I have a lot, but they all cost money (my most favorite ones do), which I don't have. But we'll go with...
PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!!!!! Because it's fun. The end.

"Happy birthday to me, I am 23..." Couldn't think of anything really superb for this year, though, so I think I'll just skip it.
Seems like there's a lot of dying on this here blog lately, no?
So, once upon a time, I moved into the Village. And our air didn't work. I can't remember if it was the heater or the AC, I just remember it didn't function as it should. Turns out, all we had to do to fix it back then was flip a switch.
Fast-forward to today. Our AC definitely doesn't work right now. I've checked the switch, I've messed with the thermostat, Roommate has messed with the thermostat... And it's still 80+ degrees in this place. And we have it set to 70. Tell me if there is not something wrong with this picture.
There mightn't be any sleeping tonight. Too dang hot.

Today, while I was at work, I almost died.
So, I'm sitting at my machine, minding my own business, but wondering why the tool chest behind me is open. And it's one of those kinds that are big and heavy and tall and have wheels, you know? So, yeah. I'm just binding my time away (literally), listening to my tunes, when suddenly... WHAM!! and OUCH!!! the tool chest is on the ground and I've got a scrape on my arm. I also think I screamed. In fact, I'm pretty sure I did. And then I and my three co-workers all just stopped working and the whole room went quiet (which never happens because, dood, those machines are
loud) and we sat and stared at the tool chest, lying there on the ground.
"If I'd been two inches to the right, " I said, "I'd be dead." My co-workers all nodded in agreement. We all slowly stood up and attempted to put the darn thing back in place and together (all the drawers had fallen out). It took three of us to pull it back up and push it into place, that is how heavy it is. And it almost
landed on me.
Two inches, my friends. My life was spared by two inches. And by the fact that I don't sit in chairs straight, but rather at an angle.
Meanwhile, I'm now sporting a rather awesome bruise on the back of my arm (along with all the other bruises I've acquired this week- including the one on my left ring-finger knuckle) and a size-able bump. Call me crazy, but I hope it sticks around for a while, and noticeably so, because it makes for a cool story.
I love my job.

We discovered what the bruise is from. It's where my arm rests on the metal cover of the coiling machine, which explains why I have a matching bruise on the other arm, too.
You know, I start to think that at the beginning of every day I should just start a blog post where I put all of my little, random posts and then publish it at the end of the day. That way I don't clutter my blog (or your google reader) and you can just read them all in one go. Instead of, you know, having 50 million 1 liners every day. Good idea? Bad idea? Who cares?
Anyway, so I'm sitting here (well, not
here exactly, but in my room on the floor in front of the mirror) putting my make-up on earlier today and I thought, "Ouch. That hurts." And lo and behold, I've got a bruise on my arm. I can't figure out for the life of me how I got it. I suppose I could have done it at work while lifting boxes full of books or something, but I don't know why I'd have a bruise on
that part of my arm from lifting a box. Maybe I accidentally hit my arm on the rocker of my chair last night in my sleep? or the book case? You'd think that would have woken me up, though. The really annoying part is that my watch keeps hitting it, and that sort of hurts. Oh well, I can take a bruise.
So yesterday at work I got my employee number (99). My first thought was, "Why can't you just add one more number and make it an even 100?"
I haven't even been watching Monk.
Oh, and I got glue on my glasses yesterday. Don't ask.

Today in my random wanderings of the World Wide Web I discovered
this. And proceeded to get really excited for it. Personally, I really really like Miyazaki. I think, out of the films of his that that I have seen,
Castle in the Sky is my favorite. Or maybe
Howl's Moving Castle. Maybe even
Spirited Away. I don't know! So hard to choose.
What about you? If you're not familiar with Miyazaki's work, you should really go out and educate yourself. If need be, come see me and we'll have a Miyazaki marathon. Granted, I don't have
all of his movies, but I've got a fair share. And love them all. We can have popcorn and cinnamon rolls. Yum.

So last night after I got home from work (and went grocery shopping) I was making dinner, you know? Well, Roommate had the TV on as she is wont to do and for some reason which I cannot fathom she decided to watch
The Bachelor. Well, apparently it was the season finale or something like that because he had to decide between the last two girls and pick one to marry (I've never actually watched this show before, so what I tell you is based solely on last night's observation).
The longer I watched this show, the more angry I became with this guy for being a jerkface and with the girls for letting him be a jerkface. Finally I got up from the couch (my dinner was in the oven), calmly walked over to my butterfly chair, grabbed the pillow from it, and threw the pillow at the TV.
I actually did feel better afterwards, but I think I would have felt even
better if I could have thrown the TV itself off the "balcony." Alas, the consequences for that are more than I can afford.

Anyone who actually visits my blog (as opposed to reading it through Google Reader) may have noticed the feature I've changed on my sidebar. It used to be a poem of the moment thing, but I've changed it to "watch this space" and have decided that every once in a while I'll update it to something new that is currently of interest to me.
Right now I am having just discovered Sara Lov (she sang that hauntingly beautiful song at the end of
Bones last Monday- skip past the first 30 seconds if you click on that link)
You can listen to some of her songs at
her myspace page or you can go directly to
her website (where you can also purchase a CD with 3 songs on it (ironically called
3 Songs) for like $5) and listen to some of her music there. I think myspace has a few more songs than her website, though. I don't remember for sure.
Anyway, I'm a fan, and I can hardly wait for her full length CD to be released towards the end of this year.
I may or may not give future notifications on the update of "watch this space." That's my whatchamacallit... umm... I don't know. I lost the word. Sometimes the nouns just leave me.
First day of work was OK, but my head is pounding. And my stomach is starting to feel sloshy now and my migraine medication is making the room spin (it's never done that before, so maybe it's not really the medication).
Anyway, work. Good. Interesting, kind of. I didn't break anything, which is also good. I only got 3 paper cuts. And I filled like a million boxes. And the punchy machine was punching to the beat of my music for a while and it was really cool. Also, very not hard work to do.
Our dishwasher is broken again. This is the second dishwasher we have had in this apartment, remember? Also remember that no one has lived in this apartment before. Think we'll get another new dishwasher? I don't know. I'm going to go complain at the office in the later hours of this morning.
Also, as a side note, I felt creepy tonight and it was really cool. The end.

Some of my favorite Chillylint quotes:
"I've decided I'm going to start referring to talking about marriage as 'we discussed the doctrines of the kingdom tonight.'"
"She let me get snot on her, how could I not make one small phone call to repay her?"
"I'm often seduced by you. Usually online. You type seductively."
"You have just become DEATH."
Happy Birthday,
Chilly! And welcome back to the country. I missed you. A lot.

Yeah, I know. It's not Sunday yet. But I'm heading home for the weekend because Sunday is Mother's Day, and I'm leaving my computer behind. Quite frankly, it's just a pain to pack up and not worth it for only 2 days.
So, anyway. Ciao, doods. See you next week.

Today I got a job. The guy who "interviewed" me pretty much offered me the job the moment I stepped into his office. It was kind of bizzare, but I was OK with it. And he never even looked at my resume. Which I brought with me, just in case. Basically he said, "Previous employment experiences probably aren't going to do you a lot of good in this job unless you've already worked at a printing press before, which I doubt. But, don't worry. We'll train you."
So, 20 hours a week, M-F, 4-8pm. This means that if I decide I want another job, I can get a second job. Which is good, I guess. Also it means that I can sleep in as long as I want and still have plenty of time to get things done around the apartment during the afternoon. And I'm thinking about walking to work, instead of driving, because it's really not that far away and it's nice outside lately. Well, except for yesterday when it was soaking wet, but you know.
Let it be known that gas now costs me $10 a tank more on average than it did 3 years ago when I got my car (more if I actually still filled it with 88 octane, but I can't afford that). Ouch. I'm starting to think the Amish might have the right idea.

Consider my loyalty bought.
So, my mouse committed partial suicide a week or so ago in that it suddenly stopped letting me right click on things. Like, it worked when I turned on my computer and then a few minutes later, it just didn't. So finally I got myself in gear and emailed Kensington's technical support, and they said they'd send me a new mouse for free!
This morning I'm drying my hair and putting on my face (these are interchangeable activities for me- I do them both in steps) when I heard a knock on the door. I ignored it, as I am wont to do. Well, when I left to have breakfast with Dad, there's a box sitting out there. My mouse came! A week earlier than they said it would. And
then I found out that my old one wasn't even under warranty anymore (which they knew, because I told them when I'd bought my old mouse), but they still sent me a new one for free, anyway! Oh Glory Be.
1 And the whole earth was of one alanguage, and of one speech.
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top
may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a
aname, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there
confound their
alanguage, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the
Lord did there
aconfound the
blanguage of all the earth: and from thence did the
Lord cscatter them
dabroad upon the face of all the earth.
33 Which
aJared came forth with his brother and their families, with some others and their families, from the great tower, at the time the Lord
bconfounded the
language of the people, and swore in his wrath that they should be scattered upon all the
cface of the earth; and according to the word of the Lord the people were scattered.
34 And the
abrother of Jared being a large and mighty man, and a man highly favored of the Lord, Jared, his brother, said unto him: Cry unto the Lord, that he will not
confound us that we may not
bunderstand our words.
35 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared did cry unto the Lord, and the Lord had compassion upon Jared; therefore he did not
confound the
alanguage of Jared; and Jared and his brother were not
confounded.
36 Then Jared said unto his brother: Cry again unto the Lord, and it may be that he will turn away his anger from them who are our
afriends, that he
confound not their
language.
37 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared did cry unto the Lord, and the Lord had compassion upon their friends and their families also, that they were not confounded.
Pick a flag, any flag. This is sooo awesome. Too bad I have no idea how accurate it really is.

My sister will be the first to tell you that I take for-ev-er to get ready. And that she doesn't understand it. Here is why.
Sometimes I shower at night before bed. That cuts an hour out of my morning routine. But here we will assume I showered in the morning.
Shower: 30 minutes
Shampoo
Conditioner
Conditioner
Conditioner
Shave
Getting dressed: 5 minutes (max)
Pick clothes and put them on. Simplest thing of my routine. (Sorry, I'm not taking a picture for this one.)
Hair: 45 minutes
15 minutes towel-dry time
Hair lotion 1
Hair lotion 2
Hair lotion 3
Dry
Straighten
Make-up: 20 minutes (Rochelle and I raced today- so this is going fast)
I may be psychotic, but at least I look nice.
Today I am very domestic. And it's not even noon yet!
First, my belt-loop ("Might not live, might not live!"): It snapped at the top while we were in Florida and I was kind of annoyed by it, but didn't bother to fix it. Instead I just wore my other pants. Well, I didn't
want to wear any of my other pants today, I wanted to wear the ones with the broken belt-loop. So I finally got my sewing machine out and fixed it.
Second, my anklet: I bought it in Morocco, and on Sunday it snagged on the couch (don't ask me how something can snag on leather, I don't know, it just did), and broke. And I was sad. And I tried to fix it then, but my hands were too shaky (maybe had something to do with the fact that I hadn't eaten because it was fast Sunday and dinner was still in the oven). Well, I decided that, while I was being a domestic person, I might as well try to fix it again, and I did! Go me. I'm awesome.

Today's subject is our favorite picture of our mommy. Well, Mommy, because I love you, I will not post a picture of you because I know you would not like it. Also because my favorite picture I do not have on my computer. Also because I don't have a picture of your mii on here. But I love you!
So instead I will post a picture of another favorite mom, Sonja.

Stina tagged me to do this a few days ago, and I figure I better do it now while I'm thinking about it, or else I'll probably forget. Plus it looks fun and I have nothing else to do because Roommate is sleeping still from nap-time and also I'm just waiting for later to roll around so I can go see the cats and The House and have Fun Times.
Whenever Oprah does her ‘Favorite Things’ show, I am always curious about the things she chooses and why. Tell me, if money were not an issue and you wanted to load up a basket of five of your most ‘Favorite Things’ and give it to your friends, what would you choose and why? It can be something simple, like the type of pen you use or something big like the type of car you drive. I will list my ‘Things’ and then I will tag a few of you to do the same thing. Here they are in no particular order...1. Heating Pad
Granted, mine is ancient and looks nothing like this, but I tell you what, when you're back is just SORE and you just need something warm on it, this does the trick. Even though it's not actually muscle pain.
2.
Crazy Sleek Hair Lotion LOVE this stuff. My hair stays straight even in humid weather and it smells good, to boot!
3.
Canon Powershot digital camera
Granted, this isn't actually the model I have (in the picture, I mean), but it's a pretty good little camera and I've grown rather fond of it. People ask me what kind of camera I use to take the pictures we've got framed in our living room here and are always surprised to hear you can do stuff like that with a camera as simple as this! (This doesn't mean I don't want a digital SLR, though).
4. Kitchen Aid Mixer
Please. Need I actually say more? I don't think so.
5. Toshiba Satellite u300
Besides the fact that Vista is often of the devil, I love my computer. It's cute, it sparkles, it's small, it doesn't weigh a million tons.... Yeah.
Tag, you're it: Chilly, if she feels so inclined, Dragon Lady, Krishna, and anyone else who feels the need.

CT Scan came back clear. Good that nothing is wrong, I guess, but at the same time I kind of wish they would have found something just so I knew why this darned headache won't go away. Still waiting to hear back on the x-ray.
