So, I don't know if I've mentioned it yet, but I'm going to Disneyland and Seaworld next month. In fact, a month from now and I'll already be DONE in California.
And this is what my daddy just bought me for when we're walking around. They are SO comfortable!

Anyway. So I made brownies tonight, and that is the real reason for this post. Sugar Coma Brownies. Yum. I plan to take them with me to work this week. Maybe tomorrow if I remember. Except that I don't even know what time I need to be at work, and that's rather annoying. I'm thinking I'll just go in at the normal time, though, and maybe clean out the cooler or something... Huh. Yeah, really don't know.
Back to the brownies and how delicious they are. They've got chocolate chips IN them. They've got lightly browned marshmallows and m&m's ON them. And they're drizzled (relatively) lightly with homemade chocolate frosting. If you find yourself in need of any scrumptiously smooth chocolate frosting anytime soon, let me know. Because I made WAY to much (I just followed the recipe...) and I'm pretty sure that even My K cannot eat all of that. It's enough to frost a whole cake. Plus some. Seriously.
It's another quiz week. The last one of the semester. It's almost like the end of an era, except not really because I'm pretty sure I'll have the same job come September. Poo on having no other life. But at least I'll be getting a raise (I think?) and um... I get to travel a lot this summer. So that should be fun.
Speaking of traveling, Santa Horhe was a blessing this past weekend and will be again in two weeks. Plus there is General Conference this weekend to get me away from this my living nightmare. I'm so excited! Oh, and then the week after Easter I might be going home again because Love Duck and J the VT are going to Vegas so I might hitch a ride. Then the next weekend is finals and the weekend after that is the return from California! Shortly after that I'll be heading to Iowa for a week or so, then home for that special day of legalities, and THEN off to NY (not the city-ew) for a week or two. I'm voting two. Or three. Three would be cool. And then the fam and I are planning on going to the Grand Canyon since we haven't been since... ohmigosh. Like when I was three. Maybe four. They've got that new skywalk thing or whatever. AND I want to go to North Carolina sometime to see the Atlantic Ocean and find a bajillion seashells all my own. I'm pretty sure that will basically sum up my summer.
Now I must truly head to bed. Morning comes far too early. Mayhaps I will sleep in a bit. Or maybe I'll wake up "normal" time to see if the dear Employer has emailed me details on the week.
(Svithe) I was thinking about my Grandma today as I drove back to Cougar Town for the airport. I was thinking that I sure I am glad death is not the end. And that's what I was thinking.
And then I was thinking a little later (or a little earlier, depending on which end of the time spectrum you're looking from) about the song "Love at Home" and I would like to include some of the lyrics in this here post:
There is beauty all around When there's love at home; There is joy in ev'ry sound When there's love at home. Peace and plenty here abide, smiling sweet on ev'ry side. Time doth softly, sweetly glide When there's love at home.
(/Svithe)
And then I was thinking that Fayce must know something about life that I haven't caught on to yet, even if she doesn't necessarily... to put it delicately, know how to put a limit to the number or affections shown (if you are unable to understand, don't worry; it's not really any of our business, anyway). I was especially thinking this after reading Yellow's blog post about buckets.
Lastly I was thinking about Disneyland and how I will be there, enjoying all the glories of both parks, One Month from Yesterday!
Which, inevitably, led me to think about finals and how they are almost upon us. And then how before that can happen comes Easter, which means I can not shop for anything outside of the food category for fear of buying something the Easter Bunny has already gotten me, which means I really might as well not buy anything at all (except groceries) until I get to Disneyland. Which means I should be really rich by the end of next month because I have 3 pay days to go.
I think some people just take pleasure in irritating me. Seriously.
Also, I have come to the conclusion that tonight I am going to write my paper that is due on Monday so that I don't have to worry about writing it while I am in Santa Horhe or Sunday after I return from said city.
I can't wait to go home. I can't wait for the semester to be over so that I can just take off and not come back if I don't want to.
Excuse me while I go bury my irritations in my homework.
Why you should never be my roommate and/or very good friend:
You will not get married until we are no longer really on speaking terms or able to see each other often. Unless you are already engaged. It's pretty much a proven fact.
I just found out that I totally could have slept for another hour. I'm so upset. If only I had gotten that email last night, or at the very least when I woke up. Then I could have stayed in bed. But now I am all ready to leave for campus and I don't know if I'll be able to sleep for another hour.
Today at work, while I was processing flowers and shredding my skin on thorns, I decided when I get married in 20 years I want to have sweet peas and lisianthus. And very few flowers total because they're all so dang expensive and I'm a penny-pincher.
... how incredibly BORED out of my MIND I am! I need to not live in such a creepy neighborhood so that I can go outside sometimes and not be afraid for my life. The park would have been a nice place to go today, but I was afraid of being molested if I went there by myself. Things like that happen, you know.
Speaking of the weather, the niceties are not going to last I think. See, it's supposed to maybe snow on Wednesday. But hopefully just rain. I can deal with rain. I mean, it is March so either way shouldn't be too much of a surprise, but I'd rather be done with the snow until... mm... November at the earliest.
In other news, I will not be bored tomorrow at work. It's going to be crazy crazy busy! We're going to get in a couple hundred roses, stock, and filler flowers- a ginormous order! All of my TAs had better come or I will go bonkey. That wouldn't be a pretty sight. It would probably be worse than last week when I screamed at the bugs in the moss. However, it is, at least, a fun and very challenging lab, so I will be engaged with doing something all 10 hours or so. Course, this means no food between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:00 pm, but I'm becoming accustomed to that again.
I was going to make some dang awesome brownies tonight. Walmart disappointed me, though, by not carrying a good portion of the supplies needed. No cooking M&M's and no Heat and Pour frosting. Sad day. I'm not actually sure if they still make that kind of frosting. I suppose I may have to make my own. It wouldn't quite taste the same, though, and it wouldn't be quite as sugary.
I haven't svithed in a while. Is that bad? I'm sorry. I'll try to do better in the future. To continue:
My K and I were watching the Anne of Green Gables tonight. Marilla made the following comment (correct me if I'm wrong) which I believe to be true (and which I also need to work on) "Ignorance is no excuse for behaving wickedly."
I just realized (at 10 pm) that I forgot two important things today: 1. To eat dinner 2. To go to the grocery store to buy water and milk. Oh, well. It's not the first time and it's certainly not the last. I blame it all on my irritability (which is at an all-time high for the week).
One Word: Cheesy. But, hey, good for a moment of mocking, right?
Love is like A pearl It festers. Probably burns, Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. You are the clam: The grain of sand That slips inside the shell Unnoticed, at first, but then Unable to reject it, To spit it out, To rid itself of what seems to be a minor nuisance Yet proves to be a major pain! What do you do with all this pain, A pain you cannot be rid of? Be the clam. Embrace it Coat it in tenderness and beauty Making it smooth And creating, at last, The perfect pearl.
Stage two of my application process has begun. I'm going to Disneyland next month. I'm going to San Fran in two weeks (again. Maybe. Hopefully.) Pay Day is next week!
I'm actually rather disappointed in the number of entertaining answers this time around. Oh, well. I guess that means people are doing better on their quizzes now.
Which template do you like best: This one (ie: the one on this page that you are reading) or this one (which has not been altered AT ALL and will be once I get around to it)?
Should I a) Have both of my sites match or b) Keep this template here as is and do my own thing with the other page
Thing is, I don't like the template I have as much as I thought I might. However, I value your opinion, dear reader, and will take it into consideration.
And now I go to sleep while I await your comments.
In my parents' ward there is an individual my age with Down Syndrome. He bore his testimony today. And you know what? Even though I couldn't understand a word he said outside of family names, I could still feel the Spirit. That is the gift of understanding tongues, my friends.
Gone to church in Santa Horhe and gotten back to P-town in time for dessert
taken (and probably failed) my last midterm
given and graded nearly 200 quizzes
nearly emptied my closet of clothing (I hope)
seen Hello, Dolly
talked to my doctor about medications (and possibly gained a new one)
FINALLY gotten mail (knock on wood) and gone to yell at the post office
Note: I doubt I'll yell at them. But I am going to find out what is taking so long for my PRIORITY mail to get from one city in the state to another and why this has happened four times in the past few months.
